OD refers to the effective components dispersed in non-water medium by solid particles into a stable suspended liquid preparation, generally diluted with water.
OD is a safe and environmentally friendly dosage form, and its product composition generally includes:
(1) Pesticide active ingredients: the pesticide active ingredients that can be processed into dispersible oil suspension agent should generally be insoluble in non-water medium solid, its melting point should be high, to ensure that the pesticide ingredients in the processing sand grinding to maintain a solid state. These active ingredients should remain stable without decomposition or reaction in non-aqueous media to ensure the effective content of pesticide active ingredients.
(2) non-aqueous medium: non-aqueous medium has great influence on the performance of dispersible oil suspension products. Generally, non-aqueous medium with high flash point, low volatility and low toxicity is selected, and the price is low to ensure the safety, environmental protection and cost control requirements of the preparation. Non – water media include oil – based media and solvent media. Oil – based media are: vegetable oil (such as corn oil, soybean oil, etc.), mineral oil, biodiesel, or its mixture. Solvent medium: high fat hydrocarbon, polyols, liquid ester (such as dimethyl phthalate, dibutyl phthalate), oleic acid methyl ester.
(3) dispersant: used to inhibit the flocculation and condensation of particles in the oil phase, plays a role in stabilizing the suspension of oil phase particles, to ensure that when the dispersable oil suspension agent is diluted with water, the formation of evenly dispersed suspension. The emulsifier used in individual products can also play a dispersing role, so dispersant is not added.
(4) the emulsifier: is the key to development can be dispersed oil suspending agent, selection of emulsifying agent must ensure that the water in the water has good emulsifying dispersion, heavy usage (generally 15% ~ 20%), and must according to the practical use of non-aqueous media such as vegetable oil, mineral oil, biodiesel and methyl oleate to screen suitable emulsifier.
